Only Karen had seen the tower before, and she gave it rave reports. Unfortunately, we arrived only one hour before closing, so we could not give it the time required. The lines to see some of the more interesting parts would have taken all our time just to get through. I was surprised to learn that it wasn't just a tower, but a whole complex of buildings built like a castle, complete with open courtyard.
The age of the building and carvings were impressive, as were the crown jewels. Not photos allowed in there, though.
Now here's the rarest sight of all - a street with no people! Actually, this was taken just after closing time and the crooked little street appealed to me.
