Graduation trip - ETAI Conference

After spending a couple of days in London, we headed for Israel. John and Sara met us at the airport at Tel Aviv very early (like 5 in the morning) and drove us to Jerusalem. We were so early we got Anita Bookbinder out of bed when we arrived. Anita is a former classmate of Karen's from their Ph.D. days at Indiana University. We'd written to let her know we would be visiting with John and Sara. When she learned we would be there during their English Teachers Association of Israel Conference, she asked Karen to be a keynote speaker. Karen was estatic with the opportunity. I don't know which she loves more: performing/speaking before a group of people or a good argument. She got both at the conference. Here are a few shots of Karen in action at the conference.

The four women in the foreground were classmates at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. From left to right, they are Karen, Brenda, Anita, and Susan. They had a mini reunion.
